Al-Noor Ramji, chief executive of BT Design, scooped an inaugural award at the 2008 European Green IT Summit, in recognition of BT Design and BT Operate projects that benefit both BT and the planet.

He won the Chief Information Officer (CIO) leader – Driving change with Green IT Award which was presented recently at the summit at the Sheraton Park Hotel in London.

To acknowledge BT Operate’s contribution, Harkeeret Singh, BT Operate head of data centre strategy, accepted the award on Al-Noor’s behalf.

Al-Noor was recognised for radically redefining BT Design’s approach to IT. He said: “I am honoured. This is a remarkable achievement, especially for BT Design and BT Operate to be recognised for demonstrating innovation and drive in green IT.”
