BT Global Services has been voted Asia’s Best Managed Services Provider in the annual Telecom Asia Awards. This is the third successive year BT Global Services has won the award, which is presented by Telecom Asia – a leading trade publication in the region.
Robert Clark, head of the awards judging panel, said: "BT has gone further than probably any other tier one carrier in the world in transforming itself into an IT and professional services company. Asia was one of the major sources of growth and transition last year as it completed two major acquisitions. Its performance in non-traditional areas was the prime reason for its improved financial results worldwide."
The award was presented at a ceremony in Phuket, Thailand. The Telecom Asia Award winners were chosen by an independent judging panel for their financial, market, technology and corporate governance performance, backed by research from global IT and telecom consultancy firm Ovum.
BT Asia pacific president Allen Ma said the award recognises BT’s aim to become the leading provider of networked IT solutions in the Asia Pacific region. He added: “This is a prestigious award which has a high profile in the region, and we are thrilled to receive this award for the third consecutive year.”
Telecom Asia group editor Joseph Waring said: “These awards are intended to reward outstanding performance in Asian telecommunications. The depth and diversity of the winners underlines the good health and innovation evident in the industry today.”
