BT Italia, 100% owned by BT, is Italy’s leading supplier of communication services and solutions for businesses and public administrations. BT Italia was incorporated in October 2006, by merging the activities of Albacom Spa and Fiat subsidiary Atlanet Spa, operating in the national telecommunication services market. In Italy, BT Italia will also coordinate the operations of BT Radianz and BT Infonet.

Some Figures

During FY 2006/2007 BT Italia Spa had a turnover of 926 million euro (+23% in comparison with the same period of the previous fiscal year), exclusively accounted for by business accounts with a portfolio which is currently above 250,000 customers.

Besides its Milan legal headquarters and offices in Rome and Turin, BT Italia is present across the country with commercial offices in major Italian cities, with some 1,400 employees.

ITS Network

BT Italia has a capillary and top of the notch proprietary fibre optic network, covering more than 12,000 kilometres across the national territory. Its infrastructure is linked to BT Paneuropean network (the largest high-speed transnational network in Europe) and linked to BT’s global network. The BT network in Italy was designed and rolled out to guarantee security, flexibility, scalability and reliability.

Solutions for the Market

BT Italia offers a wide range of telecommunication services and solutions: from basic and advanced phone services, to different Internet access modalities, passing through data transmission networks, added value services and video-communication solutions, by using high standard technologies, from wireless to Ipe, from fixed-mobile convergence down to the full outsourcing of all corporate communication services.

Thanks to the recent agreement with Vodafone, signed in April 2007, BT Italia is able to operate in the Italian market as a MVNO.
