We often talk about BT helping organisations transform their operations for the digital networked economy, but there’s another side to the story: how we’re evolving our own organisation to meet the needs of our enterprise customers in this environment.
The digital networked economy is driving a fundamental transformation in the way business, government and society operate. Global networks make it possible to communicate and collaborate with customers, citizens, suppliers and employees, wherever they are. Convergence makes it possible to deliver any kind of content or application over the network to any kind of device. This puts greater emphasis than ever before on an organisation’s ability to communicate and collaborate with global communities of customers, citizens, suppliers and employees.
Our enterprise customers tell us that helping improve those communication and collaboration processes is exactly what they’re looking for from BT. That’s why we’re creating a new kind of services company – a networked IT services company – that helps large organisations exploit the potential of this convergent, networked world. That’s why we’re bringing more and more BT capabilities together to offer expert advice, technology, connectivity and managed services from a single point of contact. And that’s why we’re changing our internal organisational structures to make it easier for enterprise customers to get what they need from BT.
-
We’re combining several BT organisations and our recent acquisitions (BT Albacom, BT Infonet and BT Radianz) into a single global services organisation – BT Global Services.
-
Our new organisation provides the global resources and local presence that large organisations need: 30,000 professionals in 50 countries, with service coverage in 170 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
-
We’re transforming our service operations to focus more clearly on the needs of enterprise customers: simplifying accountability, providing coordinated global delivery, and offering greater flexibility in your relationship with BT.
-
We offer a unique combination of expert advice, technology, connectivity and managed services that we can deliver in the way that best suits your organisation’s needs – from providing discrete products, or consulting and systems integration services, to full-scale outsourcing partnerships.
-
We continue to extend the capabilities and reach of our global IP platform, and our recent acquisitions of Albacom, Infonet and Radianz have expanded our presence still further.
It’s an approach that’s been received with approval by customers and leading industry analysts, but it doesn’t stop there. Being a customer-centric organisation is just as important to BT as we know it is to our customers, and we’ll continue to develop the depth and reach of our services to meet our customers’ needs.
