BT’s global networked IT services business continues to grow in a year that has seen record order intake and the successful acquisitions of Albacom, Infonet and Radianz. The news came as part of BT Group’s announcement of preliminary results for year ending March 31st, 2005.
BT Global Services’ turnover for the fourth quarter (ending March 31st 2005) rose by 17 per cent to £1,928 million, including £111 million of turnover from the acquired businesses, Albacom and Infonet. Excluding acquisitions, turnover grew strongly by 10 per cent. BT Global Services’ turnover for the year ending March 31st 2005 was £6,381 million, up from £5,782 million the previous year.

Commenting on the fourth quarter results, Ben Verwaayen, BT Chief Executive, said: “Our global networked IT services business is building strongly and with purpose. We have successfully completed the acquisitions of Albacom, Infonet and Radianz, extending our global reach still further. Even after excluding the effect of acquisitions, our Global Services’ revenues grew by 10 per cent in the quarter.”
“This is a profitable business today and we expect it to continue to grow,” Ben Verwaayen concluded.
