BT LAN Extension Services are high speed services that enable you to link together LANs up to 10 Gigabits per second at geographically dispersed sites at Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, GigaBit Ethernet speeds.

BT SAN Extension Services are high speed services that enable to link Storage Area Network (SAN) components between sites. These services have been developed to support SAN protocols such as ESCON, Fibre Channel and FICON and offer dedicated fibre links at speeds up to 2 Gigabits per second without usage based charges.

Customers can connect their LAN and SANs to these services without the need for additional equipment.
LAN/SAN Extension Services are ideal for customers who exchange large volume of data between sites but are equally suited to support business critical applications and high speed file transfer.
