BT Managed IBM UCC Applications solution

With our partnership with IBM for Lotus and Sametime, BT’s Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) Professional Services, such as discovery, analysis and audit, project management, design and integration, supports BT Managed IBM UCC Applications to offer a comprehensive UCC solution. The solution includes:

  • IBM WebSphere Portal software: allows partners, employees and customers to choose their user experience, with personalised applications based on role, context, actions, location, preferences and team collaboration requirements.

  • IBM Lotus Notes software: integrated desktop client option for accessing business e-mail, calendars and applications on IBM Lotus Domino server.

  • IBM Lotus Quickspace: a business-ready, self-service work space designed to deliver secure team collaboration.

  • IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 software: a platform for unified communications and collaboration, offering real-time presence, enterprise instant messaging and web conferencing.

  • IBM Lotus Sametime Enterprise Meeting Server 7.5.1 software: offers clustering and fail-over (backup) capabilities for high-reliability web conferences.

Managed outsourcing for leading brewer

Global brewer InBev outsourced its entire global communications infrastructure to BT in a seven-year contract.
In terms of the outsourcing partnership:

  • BT manages InBev’s existing data networks and its migration to BT's IP platform, combining global network connectivity and domestic connections in more than 25 countries, including remote access services.

  • In addition, BT will manage local area networks for 640 InBev sites and 24,000 users internationally while providing internet access to the brewer's four global data centres.

  • BT manages InBev's complete voice infrastructure, including telephone lines, equipment and mobile telephony, while also providing audio and video conferencing services.

  • BT also supplies helpdesk services.

  • In close collaboration with IBM, BT provides complete service management.

BT and IBM lower cost of ownership at InBev

BT’s complete outsourced solution at global brewer InBev lowered total cost of ownership by:

  • Consolidating voice, server and network infrastructure.
  • Creating a more efficient optimal infrastructure.
  • Simplifying the cost of network operations through competitive and transparent pricing.
  • Consolidating redundant messaging functions for text, voice, and fax messaging.
  • Reducing system management and administration overhead.
  • Providing the expertise and skills that InBev may not have access to in-house.
  • Enabling InBev to increase its focus on its core business.
