- My certificate does not appear to work?
If the server certificate has installed correctly and you are able to see it, it is unlikely that there is any problem with the certificate itself as failure to Export/Import can only be caused by a problem with the server itself. The certificate is the only part supplied by us - if you feel it is faulty in any way, paste it into an e-mail, along with a full description of the error being encountered, and send it to
c3-ss-support@trustwise.com, and we can investigate and test.
Alternately, you can prove it's validity yourself by saving the certificate itself with a *.cer file extension and then simply double-clicking within Windows Explorer. The ability of IE5's Certificate Manager Plug-in to open it will prove its validity.

- Installation of IIS5 certificates
NB: If you have a global server certificate, you will also need to install the intermediate Certificate.
To install the response file, follow these steps:
a. Open Internet Services Manager, or the custom MMC containing the Internet information Services snap-in.
b. Expand Internet Information Services (if needed) and browse to the Web site you have a pending certificate request on.
c. Right-click on the site and then Click Properties.
d. Click the Directory Security tab.
e. Under the Secure Communications section,
Click Server Certificate.
f. On the Web Site Certificate Wizard, Click Next.
g. Choose to Process the Pending Request and Install the Certificate. Click Next.
h. Type in the location of the certificate response file (you may also browse to the file), and then Click Next.
i. Read the summary screen to be sure that you are processing the correct certificate, and then Click Next.
j. You will see a confirmation screen. When you have read this information, Click Next.

- How do I IMPORT my IIS5
certificate?
NB: If you have a global server certificate, you will also need to install the intermediate Certificate. See question 3 for details.
a. Open the Certificates (Local Computer) snap-in and navigate to Personal, and then Certificates. Note: Certificates may not be listed. If it is not, that is because there are no certificates installed.
b. Right-click Certificates (or Personal if that option does not exist.) Choose All Tasks, and then click Import. When the wizard starts, Click Next.
c. Browse to the PFX file you created containing your server certificate and private key. Click Next.
d. Enter the password you gave the PFX file when you created it. Be sure the Mark the key as exportable option is selected if you want to be able to export the key pair again from this computer.
e. As an added security measure, you may want to leave this option unchecked to ensure that no one can make a backup of your private key. Click Next,
f. Choose the Certificate Store you want to save
the certificate to. You should select Personal because it
is a Web server certificate. If you included the certificates
in the certification hierarchy, it will also be added to
this store. Click Next.
g. You should see a summary of screen showing what
the wizard is about to do. If this information is correct,
Click Finish.
h. You will now see the server certificate for your
Web server in the list of Personal Certificates. It will
be denoted by the common name of the server (found in the
subject section of the certificate)

- How do I IMPORT my IIS4 certificate?
NB: If you have a global server certificate, you will also need to install the intermediate
Certificate.

Select the "Key Manager" icon from the tool bar within
"Microsoft Management Console".
Within "Key Manager" highlight the directory to secure.
From the tool bar select "Key", then "Import Key", then
"Back-up File".
Selecting the file (certificate) to import and then "Open"
will import the certificate. (optional) Now you will be
asked for the password, this is the initial key generation
password.
